Microsoft wireless keyboard freezes

That being say'd I cannot guarantee that the solution I will be posting here will fix problems related to wireless keyboards for everyone. Especially since I tried several things before trying this that had small effects on the keyboard performance and stability, slowly making things better. First things first: If you have a wireless setup, which I presume you do, go to the manufacturers website and download the corresponding drivers.

And then install them. Make sure that "Stikey keys" is set to "off". Also try using different USB ports to see if that does anything for ya. If all this fails to fix the problem, open device manager Search for "device manager" next to the start menu and find your way to "Human Interface Devices".

There you will Disable several of the devices concerning your mouse and keyboard. As shown on the picture below. All the items that have an arrow pointing downward on them are devices that are disabled. You might have to fiddle around a bit to see which ones work and which ones don't but as long as you retain your keyboard and mouse functionality you are golden.

If you run into trouble here, don't sweat it, if your mouse stops working, switch to another usb port and the drivers should activate themselves again. Or if you are a bit more tech savvy, just navigate using the keyboard if the mouse stops working, and vice versa.

Ohh and on a side note: Logitech's Set Point software will no longer recognize your mouse and keyboard. Extra buttons on your keyboard like pause, play, volume up and volume down will also stop working. But hey, all things considered I think that a small trade off as long as it keeps my keyboard and mouse working and responsive. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this, or how I may be able to fix it? I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit.
